So you want to be a leatherworker huh? well we have a guide for you. Leatherworking is one of the primary professions in which you can only have two of.
Leatherworking in wow and wotlk uses the hides found from the skinning prof. so its not a bad idea to be a leatherworker and skinner. We also have a skinning guide that can be found here. Armor produced by Leatherworking is used by leather- and mail-wearing classes: Druids, Hunters, Shamans, and Rogues.
Once you hit the higher levels there are three specialised Leatherworking areas you can work with. The three specialties are: Dragonscale Leatherworking, Elemental Leatherworking, or Tribal Leatherworking.
Now onto the guide. I made this guide to power level Leatherworking from 1-450 through wotlk and northrend. The items I chose for you to grind require the least ammount of materials for each level to make it easier on your pockets. However, this is not going to be the cheapest Prof to level to 450. Check out the gold-secrets guide if you need more money. If you have any suggestions for this guide send us a shout at webmaster@wrathsecrets.com. If you are doing this to make more money be SUUURE to check out this gold-secrets guide. Not only does it give you the BEST leatherworking knowledge out there, it also gives you the BEST secrets, tips, tricks and info for every aspect in the game concerning gold, its almost unfair! Check out the review here.

Levels 45-75
Make 40 Cured Light Hide using 40 light leather and 40 Salt. (I say 40 because at 65 these go green) Note: Keep the Cured Light Hide as you will be using them next.
Journeyman Leatherworking (75-155)
You should at around these levels go and train in Journeyman Leatherworking
Levels 75-100
Go ahead and make 25x Embossed Leather Pants. You will need 150 light leather, 50x Coarse Thread and the 25 Cured Light Hide from earlier. I realize this is a lot of light leather but it also gets rid of a big chunk of leveling. These also sell for over 3 silver to the vendor. If you need more gold check out gold-secrets guide.
