1.2 Resist Change – Time to DOT?

Looking at the patch notes we have this small item to tell us about resist changes:
High amounts of magic resistances will now begin to experience diminishing returns. Once a resistance is above 40%, players will begin receiving less resistance per point of stat. Any resistances which are currently experiencing diminishing returns will be displayed in orange on your character sheet.
What does this mean though? What does 40% resist equate to? Well, that is a resist of 672 to get 40% at level 40. How common is that? Well, I am looking at WarDB at the player profiles. I’ve chosen to look at level 40 Chosen with at least RR 35.
