NCsoft’s New Zealand distributor FML has today announced that Aion, the massively multiplayer online role playing game, is due to hit New Zealand shores this September.

Launched in Asia in March of this year, the game currently has over 3.5 million players. Aion has gamers ascend into divinity and fight in a celestial war with over 1,500 story driven quests. Gamers are able to choose between two factions, the Asmodians and the Elyos, and battle in a virtual quest to save their people from ancient evil.

Ian Findlay, Managing Director at FML stated, “Aion has already proven itself as a top contender in the MMO market with its huge success in the Asian online gaming community. With the massive interest generated both in New Zealand, Australia and abroad Aion is shaping up to be the most anticipated MMO game of 2009. We are excited to be bringing this game to the NZ market and are positive that gamers who appreciate quality online gaming will embrace Aion this September with open arms.”
