When I tried one I randomly had in my bags in the 5-man instance, no, it didn’t work. I suspect it will remain that way, considering the various things you can pick up in Storm Peaks can’t be used in Ulduar. Blizzard has also tried to minimize how much time you spend grinding outside of a raid in Wrath of the Lich King. Potion limitations, elixir limitations, no random consumables you can get via Herbalism or whatever else. I don’t think Blizzard would push you to grind out Vrykul Bones in between every raid.
