Deadly Apocalypse descends upon Paragon in City of Heroes

Beware the monsters of Halloween!

Yesterday saw the beginning of this year’s Halloween event in City of Heroes and City of Villains. Each year, more things get added to the Halloween event, and this year is no different. In addition to the mass zombie invasions from last year, Paragon City and the Rogue Isles will be inflicted with Haunting Banners. These are capture-the-flag objectives where heroes and villains must defeat wave after wave of enemy to succeed. Defeating each stage of the Deadly Apocalypse will award a badge, and there is an accolade badge for having all the other badges. In addition, defeating the giant monster “Mystic Aspect” which appears after all the banners are defeated will award a selection of new temporary powers thematically appropriate to the holiday.
All of the older aspects of the Halloween event are still included, like Trick or Treat and the aforementioned Zombie Apocalypse. There have been a few problems noted so far, but it’s a fun event overall that should bring some enjoyment to the Halloween fan in all of us.
